Meet the trainers

Jay Rose

Jay Rose is the founder of True K9 Love, established in 2019.

His path into dog training began with rescuing his Dogo Argentino, Kane — a powerful dog that required structure, clarity, and real leadership. That experience sparked a deeper understanding of canine behavior and ultimately shaped the foundation of his training philosophy.

Jay went on to apprentice under Jenna McDonald of Translating Dog, where he refined his ability to read behavior, communicate effectively with dogs, and build reliable obedience that holds up in real-world situations.

He continues to expand his knowledge through ongoing education and mentorship, including learning under Mike Jones of Primal Canine, ensuring his training methods stay effective, evolving, and grounded in real-world results.

Over time, Jay developed his own approach around structure, consistency, and clear communication. Today, he works with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments — helping owners build trust, leadership, and lasting results with their dogs.

Alexis Warren

Alexis’ journey into dog training began as a client with True K9 Love.

She came to Jay for help with her reactive Cane Corso, Kino, looking for real solutions and better control. Through that process, she developed a deep interest in understanding dog behavior, body language, and the importance of consistent, structured training.

What started as a need for guidance quickly turned into a passion. Alexis immersed herself in the training process, gaining hands-on experience and continuing her education under respected trainers including Rich Akina of Akina K9 and Mike Jones of Primal Canine.

Through this mentorship and real-world experience, she developed a strong foundation in obedience and behavior work across a wide range of dogs.

Today, Alexis brings a balanced approach of empathy, structure, and clear communication — helping owners create calm, reliable, and well-balanced dogs.

Transforming Dogs Through Structure and Trust.

Driven by a deep understanding of canine behavior and a passion for building meaningful relationships between dogs and their owners, we go beyond basic obedience.

Our focus is on clarity, trust, and communication — creating a training experience where dogs not only learn, but truly understand what is expected of them.

Rooted in structure and fairness, our approach helps dogs gain confidence while giving owners the tools to lead effectively.

Through this process, we don’t just transform behavior — we transform the relationship between dog and owner, creating partnerships built on respect, confidence, and lasting results.

At True K9 Love, our mission is simple:

To help dogs thrive and empower owners with the knowledge and confidence to lead them successfully.

  • Training timelines vary depending on your dog’s age, temperament, and the behaviors being addressed.

Some dogs show noticeable improvement within a few sessions, while more advanced training or behavior work can take several weeks or months. Our goal is always lasting results — not quick fixes.
